STANDARD PACKAGE

With our Standard Package you will get a comprehensive set of functionality.

Accessions

In Corema, Accessions have information about the source of the material, geographic locality with map coordinates, collector, determination history, type status, etc. In addition, user defined properties are available.

  • An accession can have an unlimited number of items, belonging to the same or different types of material (e.g. living, herbarium or DNA material).
  • For each item, information can be recorded about location, condition, number of specimens, label type, etc.
  • A chronological history of changes to an item is kept automatically.
  • An unlimited number of images can be stored.
  • Storage locations are defined in a flexible and hierarchical way.

Taxonomy and nomenclature

Corema supports both Botanical and Zoological taxonomy and nomenclature.

  • Taxa have information about accepted and synonym scientific names, common names, distribution, habitat, life form, parentage of hybrids, etc. In addition, user defined properties are available.
  • A flexible tree of allowed taxonomic ranks can be changed or extended according to the needs.
  • For botany, the nomenclature can be checked against the IPNI database.
  • All name changes are reflected automatically throughout the system.
  • Author names are validated against a list of approved names to ensure a correct citation.
  • Literature references to publications and web pages can be given.
  • An unlimited number of images can be stored.

Reports, labels and data export

A comprehensive set of reports, labels and data exports is included in the system with numerous possibilities for selection and sorting.

  • New reports, labels or data exports can be created by the user, based on the standard ones.
  • Labels using Word templates or export to Excel or text files for import to label software.
  • Use of barcodes and QR-codes are supported.
  • The data exports can be made in various formats (xlsx, xls, pdf, csv, html, etc.) or in specialized formats such as Darwin Core.

Mapping

Interactive maps of accession localities are integrated and easily accessible. You can use your own maps or choose between a wide range of internet maps.

  • Numerous map types and markers are supported, such as Google maps, Bing maps, ArcGIS and your own WMS maps.
  • Several coordinate systems are supported.
  • Plotting of localities directly on maps.
  • Map data can be exported in various formats for import to other map systems.

Management

The system comes with tools for efficient management of the collection.

  • Efficient mass-update of items.
  • Tasks for follow-up and work with the collection.
  • Exchanges and Loans of material to and from external sources.
  • Management of Contacts, Personnel, Library and Permits.
  • System Tasks for various needs such as upload to the Collection Explorer.
  • Integrated Task Scheduler to automate system tasks, reports, data exports and data imports.

Data Import

Import data directly from files. Supported file types are XLSX (Excel), CSV and TSV.

  • Work-saving when entering large amounts of data.
  • Input validation is the same as when data is entered manually.

Configurations and Security

The system comes with a range of predefined codes that can be changed to suit the needs of the collection. Security and access rights are managed through user accounts and user roles.

  • User defined properties for Accessions and Taxa.
  • User defined code tables and configurations that are used throughout the system.
  • User authorization using roles.
  • Authorization can be given for a specific period and will be automatically terminated.
  • Detailed control of access to screens and data entry privileges.

Corema Collection Explorer

Take your collection online and share it with the public. Visit our reference site for examples.

  • Publish data including taxa, accessions, localities, images, maps and an overview of the collection.
  • Use in web browsers on desktops, tablets and smartphones. Appearance is responsive and will automatically adapt to screen size.
  • We will make the site your own by styling to match the layout, fonts and colours used on your main website.
  • Use your own maps or choose between internet maps such as Google and Bing maps.
  • Built-in support for QR codes and multiple languages.
  • Upload data on demand or use the integrated Corema Task Scheduler.
Please note that complete multilingual support requires the optional Multilingual Data module.

Multilingual Data

Corema has full support for multi-language character sets (Unicode) and has fields for multilingual data entry.

  • Enter data using different languages in dedicated fields.
  • Fully supported for reports and labels.
